On behalf of the Organizing
committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the 2009 International
Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks (DSN-2009).
DSN is the chosen forum for researchers around
the world, for presenting the very best research results, solutions to
problems, and insight into emergent new challenges. DSN has pioneered the
fusion between security and dependability, understanding the need to
simultaneously fight against cyber attacks, accidental faults, design errors,
and unexpected operating conditions.
DSN also inaugurates a new structure in 2009: DSN Workshops Day is the opening day of the
conference, with a set of fascinating thematic workshops, together with
state-of-the-art tutorials. A relaxing welcome reception in the evening
prepares the souls for the
following three days, as the conference goes on with three lively tracks
interspersed by plenary sessions, featuring its flagship symposia, the
Dependable Computing and Communications Symposium (DCCS) and the Performance
and Dependability Symposium (PDS). The program is enriched with an invited talk
and a keynote speech, a plenary panel, student forum, fast abstracts, demonstrations
of tools and technologies, and birds of a feather debate sessions.
With this not-to-miss program, I am certain we
will all meet to discuss the latest advances in dependability and security, not
only inside the meeting rooms, but also as we have fun during the excursion to
Sintra and Cape of Roca and certainly as we enjoy the exquisite cuisine at the
banquet in Casino Estoril. The conference venue, Hotel Miragem Cascais, is the
most modern hotel located on the Estoril coast. We have secured a large
block of rooms in a set of hotels including Miragem, featuring a range of excellent
discount prices serving all needs, available on a first come first served basis.
But because this is peak season, we encourage you to make your reservation and travel
plans as soon as possible.
Looking forward to seeing you at DSN in Estoril
next June/July 2009!
Paulo Esteves Veríssimo, University of Lisbon, DSN
