By air: Portela International Airport

The Portela International Airport (IATA code: LIS) is the main international gateway to Portugal, and particularly to Lisbon and its outskirts. Here's how you can get from Portela International Airport to the Hotel Mirage Cascais, where DSN'09 takes place.

By taxi:

There are two taxi stands within the perimeter of the airport, one at arrivals and the other at departures. The fare on the taxi meter should read €2.50 (daytime pick-up). Outside the city limits, city fares are charged per kilometer. €1.60 is charged for the transportation of luggage or animals.

Before taking a taxi, inquire about the fare. An additional 20% is charged for services on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and for night-time service from 9pm to 6am. We recommend you obtain more information and purchase a Taxi Voucher at the Tourism Information Counter in the airport's Arrivals Hall.

By car:
  1. Take the Segunda Circular towards Eixo Norte-Sul / IC19-Sintra / Campo Grande.
  2. Continue on Segunda Circular, and take exit 16 to merge onto CRIL/IC17 toward Sul/A2 / A5/Cascais / Algés.
  3. Merge onto Av. Marginal/N6 via the ramp to Cascais / Oeiras. Continue on Av. Marginal/N6, going through 3 roundabouts; the hotel will be on your right.
By public transport:
AeroBus shuttle + urban train:
  1. Take the 91 AeroBus shuttle to Cais do Sodré. Service begins at 07:45am and ends at 08:15pm, with buses passing every 20 minutes. The ticket is purchased from the driver as you board the bus, costs €3.35, and is valid for all-day travel.
  2. At Cais do Sodré, change for the rail service towards Cascais and get out of the train at Monte Estoril

By train: Oriente multi-modal station

There are two main international rail connections to Lisbon: SudExpress, connecting with the Paris TGV in Hendaye/Irún, and Lusitânia Hotel Train, to/from Madrid (Chamartin). Both travel overnight, which means you can relax, sleep, or organize your papers. Customers can choose from 1st or 2nd class seats, or beds if they want to spend the night in more comfort.

Although the terminal station in both cases is Santa Apolónia, utilizing the immediate station, Oriente, allows for better transport connection with the center of Lisbon and the DSN venue.

Underground train + urban train:
  1. At Oriente, take the underground Red Line service to Alameda
  2. At the Alameda station, change for the underground Green Line service to Cais do Sodré
  3. At Cais do Sodré, change for the rail service towards Cascais and get out of the train at Monte Estoril
Bus + urban train:
  1. Take the 28 bus towards Restelo (Av. Descobertas), and get out at Corpo Santo, from where you take a 100m walk to Cais do Sodré. The ticket fare is €1.35 and may be purchased to the driver as you board the bus.
  2. At Cais do Sodré, change for the rail service towards Cascais and get out of the train at Monte Estoril
